That this is soul work makes it complicated work, but also the most rewarding. I am not teaching yoga. I am offering a space for people to find their sweetness through yoga and then bring that out into the world. That takes time and it also takes commitment on my part and theirs. When someone asks to extend their package when they haven't shown up for months, it hurts a little. I'm committed to their practice, but are they?
Mastery isn’t the absence of struggle, nor stress. It is the progress we make in how we deal with the struggles and the stressors.
There are gems on our paths if we are willing to look and there are also thorns. This is true no matter how many postures we can execute with precision and grace. What stories we tell ourselves about both the thorns and the gems are what get us into trouble.
Let me say right away.. I hate cancelling. I think it creates inconsistency and can lead to a reputation of being unreliable, which no one wants. However, there are also really good reasons to cancel including “I am really not up to teaching one person if no one else is coming.”
